What is Glutathione?

Glutathione  is a very powerful anti-oxidant, immune system booster and detoxifier, however, it does not absorb well when taken orally.

Why Glutathione?

Antioxidant – Glutathione is the body’s own natural and most powerful antioxidant, present in every cell. All other antioxidants, like vitamins C, E, selenium, and so forth depend upon the presence of glutathione to function properly, making glutathione “the master antioxidant”, according to scientists.

Immune Booster – “Elevated glutathione levels enable the body to produce more white blood cells – the most important front line defense of the immune system.” (Glutathione, Essential Health AID by Dr. Jimmy Gutman)

Detoxifier – The body’s most concentrated source of glutathione is in the liver – our main organ of detoxification. Glutathione detoxifies the liver and other cells of many known carcinogens.

The Problem with Oral Glutathiones

THE PROBLEM with over-the-counter forms of Glutathione is that they dont absorb well (see Reference 1, 2).  This is generally known.  So alternatives to orally dosed Glutathione in the form of  liquids and other supplements known as ‘per-cursors’ have become preferred ways to raise Glutathione levels in your body.  Liquid forms smell and taste bad.  Pre-cursors depend on the body converting them to Glutathione.  For some these mechanisms may not work effectively.

Green Mountain has developed (patent pending) an Acetylated form of Glutathione in an oral tablet.  Acetyl-Glutathione (A-GSH) may result in higher levels of intra-cellular  (see Reference 1, 2, 3).

Green Mountain’s S Acetyl-Glutathione

Acetylglutathione is stable in the stomach and gastrointestinal tract and is well absorbed. It enters the cells directly and presents to the cytosol for mitochondrial entry.

Hundreds of patients have taken our A-GSH since its introduction (by prescription) over 4 years ago.  Our tablet is odor free and tasteless.  It is scored so it can be broken in half.
